  1. Crass
  2. Marc Riley & The Creepers
I expected to like this ex-Fall project a lot when I finally got around to hearing it, but it reminds me of the short set I saw the Fall do when Mark Smith stumbled off the stage in the middle of a gig — not bad exactly, but without M.E.S. spewing vitriol and gratuitous terminal syllables, just not all that interesting.
  3. Fire Engines
This band that I somehow never got around to hearing until now, on the other hand, were a revelation. Like the bastard offspring of The Fall and Television – scratchy tinny production and intertwining guitar lines abound.
  4. Hüsker Dü
  5. Mogwai
  6. Juliana Hatfield
  7. The Times
    Edward Ball binge, part one
  8. Tie: Teenage Filmstars [Edward Ball binge, part two], O Level [Edward Ball binge, part three,Edward Ball being the other writing dude from the early days of The Television Personalities, accompanied on some of these tracks by main TV Personality Daniel Treacy] and Deerhoof, The Dictators, The Ergs!, P.K. 14 [China's answer to late Fugazi? Maybe]

161 artists, 502 tracks.
