It’s a quote from the Fugazi song, “Target.”
Yes, it’s ironic. I love the sound of guitars, not least that of my Les Paul, which is pictured in the header graphic.
This is a way for me to write brief musical items until I can get a large enough block of time to make my main media review site non-moribund.
Unlike the other one, this site does not invite you to submit your work for review, and it will only feature recordings and performances about which I have more good things to say than bad.
Update: I’m trying to write a very brief comment on every new 2011 release I hear. We’ll see if I can keep it up, but I’m through the first quarter. This inevitably means that I’m writing about some recordings that break the “more good than bad” rule, but I’m still trying to emphasize the positive. There’s a lot of wonderful music to celebrate.

So happy to see you giving Brad’s “For Amie” benefit a bump. I’ve tried but I don’t have the reach. Thanks.

Along with cellist Gordon WITHERS of OFFICE OF FUTURE PLANS (whose self-titled debut LP will be released by Dischord Records on November 21, 2011), J. will be digging into the catalog of songs he’s written over the past two decades.

Hi! I couldn’t find your e-mail. I play in a NH band (that kind of wants to be a Boston band) called bellwire. We released our debut EP a couple weeks ago and are looking for reviews. You can hear it/download it for free here: bellwire.bandcamp.com.
If you do want to do something and have any questions, please email me! tylerburdwood@gmail.com
